Hair loss in female can occur at any age group but more common in certain ages such as nearing menaupause and at teens.

Normally a woman will loose 50 to 100 hair per day due to different phases of hair growth cycle.

most common causes include heriitery causes in female pattern hair loss, medical condition such as anaemia or thyroid disorders, improper styling and usage of harsh products or usage of certain medications.

Any stressful event in life will lead to massive hair loss.

Ageing will lead to decrease in female hormones estrogen and progesterone and relative increase in testosterone leading to thinning of hair particularly in the crown of head called female pattern hair loss. specific grading systems available to grade this condition graded from 1 to 7

  • Gentle hair pulling to determine how many hairs come out

  • Blood tests to test for vitamin and mineral levels (like vitamin D, vitamin B, zinc, and iron), and hormone levels (including thyroid and sex hormones)

  • Scalp examination under a microscope

  • Scalp biopsy to remove and examine a very small piece of tissue

Once a diagnosis is achieved proper diet counseling is done and a balanced diet chart is given with the help of our dietician.
